Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve been asked every question you can think of (and probably some you can’t) so we decided to drop all the answers on to this page so you can get instant answers to your questions. Simply locate the question you have below, click on it, and the answer will immediately be shown.
How do I buy a beat exclusively?
Exclusive beats are being mixed by the KRUNCH 2.0 team as we speak. Once the exclusive beats are finished, there will be an exclusive beat page available in the menu bar.
Are beats removed from website once bought?
No. When an exclusive beat is bought, it will no longer be available for sale or download, but it will remain on the website and be listed as “SOLD.” When a non-exclusive beat is bought, it will remain on the website and can still be bought by others. The next question and answer will explain how the same beat can be bought by multiple people.
What if two different people buy the same beat?
If two different people buy the same beat, they can still each copyright their own song they make with that beat, and sell, distribute, perform and broadcast that song, keeping all their own royalties.
When you purchase a beat from KRUNCH 2.0, the copyright for that beat alone still belongs to KRUNCH 2.0. However, the copyright for the song that you make with that beat, your lyrics combined with that beat, belongs to you. And with the rights granted to you by the KRUNCH 2.0 license agreement, you are allowed to sell, distribute, perform and broadcast (TV, radio, Internet) that song, keeping all of the royalties.
What are tracked out audio files?
Tracked out audio files, also called stems, are sub mixes of an instrumental. For example, an instrumental might have the four stems: Bass, Beat, Percussion, and Instruments. The Bass stem being the bass; the Beat stem being the kick and the snare; The Percussion stem being the hi-hats, shakers, and crash cymbals; and the Instruments stem being the strings, organs, and synths. All of these stems are the full duration of the instrumental and can be layered together to recreate the stereo mix of the original instrumental.
The reason for stems is that they allow for more precise fine tuning while mixing a song. For example, one can adjust the gain on the Bass without affecting the low end of the Cellos. Or you can mold the cymbals around the vocals without affecting the punch of the snare. Although KRUNCH 2.0 beats come already professionally mixed, depending on the particular artist’s vocals or the sound of the rest of their album, adjustments may want to be made in mastering. With stems these adjustments can be made much more accurately and easily.
Why do only some beats have WAV and Tracked Out versions available?
If a beat does not have a WAV or Tracked Out version available, this only means that those audio files for that have not been prepared and uploaded to KRUNCH 2.0 server yet. We are currently working to prepare and upload as many WAV and Tracked Out files as we can, but if there is a certain one that you would like made available sooner than the others, please make a request: WAV/Tracked Out Request
Can I change up the beat after I buy it?
Yes, you can chop, loop, speed up, slow down, add extra sounds, and change up the beat as much as you want as long as you still give full production credit to the original KRUNCH 2.0 producer.
What licenses will come with free beats from bulk purchases?
After you have chose 5 or more beats, you will see an adjustment to the price of your cart. When choosing your free beats, you can pick from any beat available in our main music player.
If you buy 3 beats with an MP3 License then you will get 2 free with the same license. If you buy 3 with a Tracked Out license, you may pick 2 free with the same license. If you buy a mix of different licenses, you can pick the free beat from the least expensive license.
Bulk deals only apply to beats purchased at the same time. If you have purchased beats from us in the past, you will need to make a new bulk purchase to take advantage of our current bulk deals.
How do I give credit to the producer?
In all projects where any part of a KRUNCH 2.0 beat is used, be sure to give credit in one of the following formats:
“Produced by (Producer’s Full Name)”
“Beat by (Producer’s Full Name)”
“Original Music by (Producer’s Full Name)”
What do you use to make your beats?
Our newest beats are made using the industry-standard DAWs, Pro Tools or Ableton Live. Some of our earliest beats were made using Reason.
Do you use samples?
No. All KRUNCH 2.0 beats are made using copyright-free or licensed sounds, so you don’t have to worry about clearing any samples.
How can I record my vocals? Can I come record them with you?
At the moment we aren’t offering recording services, but finding a way to record your lyrics is pretty easy. Here are some options…
1. Find a Local Recording Studio
Although it can be expensive, you’ll get a professional sounding recording that will give you an edge over your competition. Try searching Google for local recording studios then call them up and find out what they have to offer.
2.Use Your School’s Recording Studios
If you are attending college, your school will probably have some kind of recording facility in its music building. Most campus recording studios are limited to certain students or classes, but ask the staff about availability. If you can get access to these rooms, it will usually be free.
3.Ask a Friend or Family Member
If you know any friends or family members that have home recording setups, or can help you record your lyrics. See if they’d be interested in helping you out.
4.Build Your Own Recording Studio
Setting up a home studio usually just takes a good mic and an AD/DA converter like the Mbox to record the audio into your computer. The Mbox, or whatever AD/DA converter you choose, will usually come with free recording software (like Pro Tools) that you can use to mix and edit your vocals.
Can I sell my beats on your site?
At the moment we aren’t looking for any additional producers, but we may be adding more in the future. If we do, we will probably hold a tryout and choose from the best, so stay in touch and keep making beats.
